Did you know that The Beer Store is not owned or run by the Ontario Government?
The Beer Store is a privately owned monopoly – owned by Labatt, Molson and Sleeman.
These 3 companies are not Canadian!
Please consider helping Ontario consumers of beer by signing the petition – the petition calls for the government to allow competing grocery and supermarket food stores the opportunity to sell beer.
The Beer Store is a foreign-owned monopoly that is not accountable to the people of Ontario.

About time. We need to do something about the LCBO at the same time.

Not the LCBO, you will simply transfer the business from a Goverment owned monopoly to a privately owned one.
Same as the beer store, leave the LCBO as is

I find the Ontario government’s logic flawed in that it defends its position regarding the LCBO in that the LCBO needs to remain under the ownership of Ontario, however, delivers a different, obscure message in that the Beer Store should remain as is … why, because they’re both doing a good job! Really? McGuinty simply avoids change and neither of these issues is going to gain him popularity in the polls … until this petition gains momentum! Though I would oppose the LCBO taking over the role that the Beer Store currently performs I would even prefer this alternative to what is happening today. Why allow this oligopoly to run this operation as a cartel. It’s ludicrous and if you’re going to allow it and watch consumers get gouged, then it might as well go back into the public purse.

Absolutely! End this monopoly, NOW!
I do not drive, and it would be SO convenient to be able to buy beer at my local grocery or convenience store, instead of having to find a ride to a BEER STORE.
Let’s join the rest of the world!
